抵达之谜的破解与历史性的诠释奈保尔的《抵达之谜》中的“空间”内涵研究

摘要： 空间并非只存在于外部，空间还存在于外部与自身发生关系处。空间转移在奈保尔的作品中起着重要作用。在《抵达之谜》中，空间转移使奈保尔遭遇了焦虑、困惑和身份的迷失。另一方面，空间转移的经历反过来让奈保尔可以站在一个比较客观的角度去审视他所涉足的世界，使他能够重构西方与东方的形象。在这种重构中，奈保尔被抑制的心灵得以释放。奈保尔通过探索生与死的问题以达到对人生的彻悟。此时，他的心结，他的那种关于自己身份的问题便消解了。

Abstract: Space exists not only externally， but also where the outside is actually related to oneself. Space transfer plays an important role in Naipauls novels. In his The Enigma of Arrival， space transfer makes Naipaul feel anxious， puzzled and experience a loss of identity. But then， space transfer provides Naipaul with an objective perspective to observe the world he is in， which enables him to reconstruct the images of the West and the East. And in this reconstruction， Naipauls repressed spirit is released. By looking into the issue of life and death， Naipaul fully understands life and only at that moment does he finally settle the problem about loss of identity， which is a knot in his heart.
