Abstract: From the perspective of cultural understanding and transcending， this paper discusses the issues concerning the possible development of Chinese culture in the world， based on an inspiration from the Jesuits experiences of cultural exchange in China during Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is held that cultural exchanges with the outside world should give priority to the inter-faith dialogues in different cultures and the problems ensued， and effective cultural transmission could only be fulfilled by the interaction with and reconstruction of foreign cultures. To finish the task， a good grasp of Chinese culture with a good understanding of its traditions and the core values of target countries should become a prerequisite. To understand and transcend such cultural differences， the interaction and reconstruction among different cultures should be guaranteed. Meanwhile， the popularization and the elitism of Chinese culture are equally important.
