Abstract: Distincted from western modern science, ancient Chinese science has its own forms and connotations. Western modern science does not include men, pays little attention to men, and fails to provide the value standards for human acts. It is so away from the life-world that the mankind has become “homeless”. In contrast, ancient Chinese science includes men, pays attention to men, and establishes the codes of conduct so that men could live harmoniously with the nature. It follows the original and true lifestyle so that men could live a simple household life. In a word, western modern science is focused on matters while ancient Chinese science gives priority to the care of men.

Key words: science, man, lifestyle, value
