Abstract: The rapid development of the Internet has provided a new platform and channel for the irrational expression. As an abnormal form of conflict, the irrational expression on the Internet is generally deemed to cause social disorders. However, the driving forces, which turn oral speeches into irrational behaviors, may be weakened by the following factors: the resolving force from the catharsis, the centrifugal force of individuals among groups and the resistance from a complex external environment, making it difficult to disrupt social orders. The interaction of these three forces forms a weak-force field, which prevents the online irrational expression from being turned into disorderly behaviors, but is at unpredictable risks. The condition exhibits a “quasi-static” state between order and disorder. To construct an ideal and orderly society, the adjustment of weak-force field should cooperate with the other concepts of governance and play valid roles jointly.

Key words: weak-force field; network; irrational expression; social order
