Abstract: In the era of intelligent media, the scenario-based application of ideological and political education is the digital empowerment and intelligent upgrading of ideological and political education. In the scenario-based applications, scenario-based thinking, scenario-based narratives and scenario-based communication, with its “people-oriented”, “life-based narratives” and “immersive communication”, meet the needs of ideological and political education in the era of intelligent media. This clarifies the possibility and necessity of scenarios to empower ideological and political education. At the same time, the fragmented presentation of scenario narratives, the sensory impact of scenario dissemination, the proliferation of pan-entertainment scenarios, and the technological alienation of scenario construction also pose challenges to the development of ideological and political education. In this regard, the traction and dominance of mainstream values in scene-based applications should be adhered to, the two-way interaction between subject and object of education in scenario-based applications should be enhanced, and the precision of communication and the depth of learning in scenario-based applications with “human-machine collaboration” should be strengthened so as to promote the scientific development of scenario-based applications of ideological and political education.
