Abstract: Based on the theory of agricultural insurance demand, this study applies the binary logistic model to conduct an empirical analysis and test of the rural household survey data in Liaoning Province. From such new perspectives as household economic conditions, farming conditions and risk-sharing measures, the influential factors and mechanisms of effective demand for policy-oriented agricultural insurance are studied empirically. Meanwhile, such factors as farmers individual characteristics and their understanding of agricultural insurance are taken into account. The results show that health insurance, endowment insurance and revenue exert a negative impact on policy-oriented agricultural insurance, whereas government assistance, household assets, insurance cognition, level of education and other factors exert a positive impact on policy-oriented agricultural insurance.

Key words: policy-oriented agricultural insurance, satisfaction, effective demand
