Abstract: The importance of the four parameters, including the radian of electrodes, the permittivity of insulating pipe material, the thickness of pipe wall and the distance between earthed screen and electrodes to the design of ECT(electrical capacitance tomography) sensors was studied by orthogonal experiment with interaction of factors. The four parameters and their interaction have different effect on the quality of images reconstructed by iterative method or multi-linear regression method. The optimum parameters can improve the quality of reconstructed images.
