Abstract: The mathematical models including air cooling model, water cooling model, feedforward control model, feedback control model and self-learning model of laminar cooling were developed, based on a hot strip plant production line. PID algorithm and Smith predictor controller were studied applying on feedback control. By a practical application test on spot, the models are proved to be simple, effective and of high precision. The coil temperature can be controlled within allowed limitations.
