Abstract: A Web-based device management model was presented based on embedded Internet technology and Web management technology for embedded system with limited computing resource. It resolved the proprietary, complexity, user-friendly and networked issues of traditional management models. It was integrated with three technologies: well-known Web Browser-Server technology as its framework, SNMP Manager-Agent technology as its management mode, and Java technology for its cross-platform. It provided a user-friendly, cross platform, open and ubiquitous method to monitor embedded system for administrators anywhere and anytime. The components of managing system and managed system were designed respectively.
