Robust fault-tolerant guaranteed cost control for fuzzy descriptor system with uncertain parameters

Abstract: The problems of robust fault-tolerant guaranteed cost control for T-S fuzzy descriptor system with uncertain parameters and actuator failure are studied. A sufficient condition for the existence of robust fault-tolerant guaranteed cost controller is given for all admissible uncertainties. Under the condition, the designed controller not only provides the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system but also guarantees the performance at an adequate level. The nonstrict LMIs for the descriptor system are transformed into strict ones by means of the matrix decomposition. The drawback that the LMI toolbox can't be used directly is thus overcome for descriptor system. In this way the solutions to the controller can be given via the LMI toolbox like the normal system. An illustrative example is given to show the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach.
