Abstract: The decline of rural community has become a worldwide problem, which has been examined in the academic circles from the perspective of rural community transformation. In general, it can be interpreted from five aspects, including frequently unidirectional mobility of population, changes of lifestyle, difficulty in accessing resources, complicated networks of social relationship and collective behaviors of villagers engaging in public affairs. Therefore, theoretical discussions about this issue cant be confined to a certain discipline and should turn to management, economics, politics, sociology and psychology. It is from the five perspectives that the paper analyzed the phenomenon and reasons and then put forward several countermeasures against the rural communitys decline, with an aim to providing multidimensional views on exploring and solving this problem.

Key words: rural community, social decline, urbanization
