On the Distinctive Educational Value of Cooperative Education

Abstract: Cooperative education is a kind of work-integrated learning activity that combines students' learning in classroom with practice in society, and integrate their academic study and future profession. It uses two kinds of educational environments and resources both inside and outside campus. It promotes the interaction between university and society, making up for the deficiency of educational resources on campus. Cooperative education is an innovation of educational ideology and talent-cultivation mode, which has become an inevitable trend of higher education worldwide. The fundamental value of cooperative education lies in its educational value mainly focusing on developing students comprehensive quality and promoting their academic achievements as well as professional ethics. Ultimately, the quality of talent cultivation could be improved.
