Abstract: The model-following control problem is discussed for a class of uncertain linear composite systems with parametric perturbation and exterior disturbance. In view of the interconnected terms which play an indispensable role in composite systems, a new idea is put forward that the reference model is chosen according to the expected performance indices with the interactions among different sub-systems taken fully into account so as to add the interconnected terms to the reference model. Based on the assumption of the uncertainty satisfying the bounded and matched conditions, a new robust decentralized variable structure model-following controller is proposed to ensure the global asymptotic stability of the uncertain linear composite systems by means of Lyapunov method. The proposed control law is designed concisely and easy to realize. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
