Abstract: Given the need for scientific computing visualization of vector field data, the OpenGL library and MFC technology were used to achieve vector field visualization based on geometry graphics. After pre-processing regular and non-regular mesh data, the structures and features of the vector field were exhibited by colored arrows and streamlines. In addition, details of the vector field were acquired through interactive operations such as transformation and graphic rendering. A set of application programs for vector field visualization was developed. By comparing with Tecplot, the system has better effectivity of vector field visualization.
