Abstract: Discusses the model or strategy developed by Ye et al for improving the production efficiency via container yard where only few narrow paths are provided for the lots of vehicles. Then, the Euler method is introduced into the path-resource-orientated study on the control and decision-making of vehicles' route choosing in a container yard. In this study whether a path is unimpeded or not can be predicted spatially and temporally for vehicles which will therefore travel along a path that is unimpeded and comparatively shorter. Testing results showed that the congestion time and total operational time will both be clearly shortened if the route is chosen according to the proposed strategy in comparison to that developed by Ye et al.
