Abstract: The high contents of Al2O3 and TiO2 in slag bring the BF melting process to facing lots of difficulties. An experimental investigation was therefore performed on the melting properties of vanadium-titanium BF slag with high Al2O3 content in Chengsteel. The results show that the temperature of BF slag should be controlled above 1400°C, in accordance to the actuality, with the binary basicity controlled about 1.02 and MgO content about 13.95%. The Al2O3 content should be controlled in the range of 12%-14% with TiO2 content lower than 12.57%.
