Abstract: Through analyzing mechanism of rock blasting, the rock blasting reason can be concluded that the action force of rock blasting generated is bigger than rock strength. The relationship of rock physical mechanical characteristics and rock blasting were examined. The influence of rock strength, density and porosity of rock blasting were demonstrated. It is found that the tensile strength of rock plays a key role in rock blasting and that the smaller rock porosity and the bigger rock density are favorable to rock blasting. The influence of water on rock blasting was investigated and it is shown that water medium is favorable to rock blasting.
