化学镀碳纤维增强钛酸铝莫来石基复合材料

Aluminum titanate-mullite matrix composite reinforced by electroless Ni and Cu plated carbon fiber

摘要: 通过化学镀方法,在碳纤维表面分别镀上Ni、Cu和Cu+Ni镀层,以这种表面改性碳纤维与钛酸铝 莫来石陶瓷复合,制备表面改性碳纤维增强钛酸铝 莫来石基复合材料,研究不同质量分数的碳纤维对复合材料抗弯强度、断裂韧性、尺寸变化率和孔隙率等的影响规律·结果表明,碳纤维可以显著地提高材料的性能,表面改性碳纤维可以进一步提高材料性能,尤其是铜镍复合镀碳纤维的效果更好,其抗弯强度可达基体抗弯强度的2 8倍,断裂韧性可达基体断裂韧性的2 74倍,增强后的复合材料的尺寸变化率和孔隙率变化不大·

Abstract: The aluminum titanate-mullite matrix composites reinforced by surface modified carbon fibers were processed. The carbon fiber was coated with Ni, Cu and Cu + Ni by electroless plating process. The effects of content of various carbon fibers on bending strength, fracture toughness, dimensional shrinkage and porosity of the composite were studied. The results indicate that the surface modified carbon fibers particularly plated by the Cu + Ni can improve the properties of the composites remarkably. The bending strength and fracture toughness of the composites are 2.8 and 2.74 times as high as those of the matrix ceramic respectively and the dimensional shrinkage and porosity of the composites keep nearly the same as the matrix ceramic.
