Abstract: The dissolution rate of potassium in the potash fertilizer synthesized with desiliconized slag under different conditions was determined and discussed. The results showed that the dissolution rate of potassium in water is less than that in aqueous citric acid solution and much less than that in the widely used fertilizer of potassium sulphate. The fact shows that the potash fertilizer synthesized with desiliconized slag has an obvious property of slow release. The effects of the amount of K2O addition, holding time and oxide additives on the dissolution rate are not obvious, though the heating temperature and cooling mode affect it notably.
