Abstract: The β-Ca3 (PO4)2 (β-TCP) bioceramic coatings containing magnesium were synthesized with sol-gel method after sintering at 600°C. The results showed that CO32- group is incorporated into the β-TCP crystal structure to implement B-type replacement, i.e., the CO32- group partly replaces the PO43- group in the crystal structure. A nascent osten lamella forms on the surface of β-TCP coating in the bioactivity test through soaking the coatings in simulated body fluid (SBF). It means that the coatings have good bioactivity and are expected to be widely used as artificial bone materials in the future.
