Abstract: Converging technology, a combination of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science, has brought allaround changes to us. It not only changes technology itself, but also transforms the environment human beings live. Convergence of technology is different from technology integration in that the former places more emphasis on the creative integration among different technologies to reshape the technological system. Convergence of technology is of great significance in understanding technology itself and opening the dynamic black box of technology. The inherent potential of technological convergence is worthy of attention and its unpredictable nature also calls for the attention and involvement of technological ethics. Accordingly, philosophy of technology should be concerned about this new object and make sure that converge of technology develops to benefit rather than endanger the future of the mankind.

Key words: technology, convergence of technology, philosophy of technology
